Seed Kits How To

Coaxing a seed to grow and flourish isn’t always easy, but that’s what makes success so sweet. Even a novice gardener can successfully nurture their seeds by following these tips:

Gently unfold paper pots.

Step 2: Label each pot with seed name.

Step 1: Gently unfold paper pots.

Step 4: Sow 3 to 5 seeds in each pot, 1/2-inch apart.

Step 3: Fill each pot with damp soil. Be sure it's not too wet.

Step 6: Put pots in wooden tray and place in sunny spot.

Step 5: Mist the pots lightly with water.

Step 8: Remove plastic as soon as seeds start to sprout.

Step 7: Cover entire tray in plastic wrap and mist daily with water.

Step 9: After 2 to 4 weeks, when the seedlings are a few inches tall, they can be transferred outdoors or moved to bigger pots and kept indoors. To transfer, place the paper pots directly in a hole deep enough to hold the entire pot. Cover with soil. The pots will biodegrade.
